When is ethical if ever to terminate a pregnancy?

Since my point of view to terminate a pregnancy the life of the baby must be in danger. It could be because of illness, viral infection (like AIDS) or if the mother is risking her life. The fetus can be killed in any of these reasons. Because I could see that there’s an external reason of why the baby is being killed. I think this is the only way you could terminate a pregnancy. If the judgment of doctors and yourself tells you that you are running a risk having this baby or that for some external reason this baby will suffer in the future than I consider the decision ethical. A standard ethic in objectivism is that man must survive as man. You must look out for your own good and not for those around you. The principal social basic ethic of the objectivism is that no man has the right to judge. Only your judgment is worth in a decision. Objectivism rejects any idea of altruisms which means that morality consist in living for others o for society. Your conscience is the one who would make up your decision and tell you if it’s right or wrong. So in my opinion the final decision can’t be judged by others and if the pregnancy was terminated than it must have been for a good reason. The person making the decision knew exactly what they were doing and why. So at the end it’s the person doing the action who knows if it was correct to do what she did.

  1. I agree with what Alexa said because killing a baby is considered an unethical act, since you are killing an innocent individual that had done anything to society. The mothers need to take responsability of their own acts and not blame it to the childs life.
