Death Penalty

I strongly believe that the state has the right to kill another person only if the reason of killing the other human being is not based on odium. It must be intended for overall justice of the society. Death penalty is permitted when the reason of the action is for punishment specifically. It’s not wrong to kill another person if the purpose is to save others life. This action is made just to satisfy others and make them feel secure. The only explanation a person should be killed is for committing a very bad action towards others. People have to avoid doing bad things and try to be a person with a better mentality and with a good and satisfied routine of life. Human beings may reach this goal by obtaining virtues and making great choices that are moral. However, we need to seek for the good of the community even if that means to kill someone who threatens others. The human act is to accomplish their good behavior. Moral consists in behaving well every time and everywhere. By the natural law everyone know the difference of what is bad and what is good for people, so if they choice to do something bad the state has the right to kill them. The best path that human beings may and can take is to follow religion and God. Capital punishment, or in different terms, death penalty should be allowed for the security of all society. An individual that has the goal to harm, damage and prejudice others doesn’t deserve right to live.
Thomas Aquinas (Nathalie Wolozny)
