IS ETHICS IMPORTANT
As Jean Jacques Rousseau I sustain that ethics, the study of morality is very important. One of my most famous work is title “The Social Contract”. In this work, I make great emphasis on the idea that human being have natural brutish condition, that is, we are born good, our real motive is to cause no harm to others. People wouldn’t distinguish between evil and good, what is right and what is wrong. Imagine a society in which people would murder others when they are angry or just feel like it. Or when something is missing, people would just steal, take it from others and wouldn’t know that they did something wrong. Morality, in simple terms, is the ability for humans to distinguish if something is wrong or if something is right. In my work, I wrote that people need laws, punishment in order to preserve peace in a society, in others word the benefit of the “greater good”. Ethics is important, substantial in order to have a status . Living in the 21 century, were now, in everyone can posses a gun, although not by legal means, and have more liberties or freedom, it is important for people to distinguish if their actions by essence is bad or good. A society will only endure when its people live happily. If we see the problem from a more open aspect we can perceive that the main problem is not the individual, the problem is society. Society corrupts individual and makes it mean, and create bad to other individuals.

I agree with Jean Jacques, the world needs ethics to survive. If there is no sense of right or wrong the only thing to be expected is chaos. Humans need to sustain the idea that good actions are rewarded or just to feel the satisfaction of having done something right.
ReplyDeleteI have an affirmative attitude towards Jacques statement. All the positive, beneficial and rightful actions amongst humanity are complete results of ethical living.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Rousseau. I believe that the world does need ethics and morality in order to survive!
