The death penalty is given to a person who has committed an extremely serious crime, a crime that he has chosen to execute. I believe in existentialism and that people must judge their own moral choices. To do so, people must make their own right choices, they have beyond judging own actions according to the reason of a standard society and become accountable only the judgment of God. God is the only one who is able to take a life away. Even though society expects the criminal to pay for his crime, it is not our job to punish someone or to take another human being´s life. I believe that the only accountable judgment is Gods. People might criticize others, but it is not up to them to condemn someone. The laws the state imposes are clear, even though the criminal has defied the states authority, it will be God and only him who can fully decide what the persons future will be. We rely on Gods opinion and on what he thinks of life. I do believe the person sentenced for death penalty has made his own choices, but has not considered acting upon the right, moral choices of his life. This person has excluded the moral values known by virtues of ethicists and has believed that authenticity is the idea of being true to one self when making a choice. The person has clearly misinterpreted the philosophy and has chosen to follow a non-moral choice.
