Death Penalty: An Atrocious Act

Ever since I witnessed the execution of King Charles the I; I disagree with the state on killing human life. My beloved King of England was beheaded, publicly. It was a gruesome killing, no one would like to be humiliated with such a cruel sentence .I believe that is important how a person dies therefore everyone should respect human life. Whatever the situation that provoked the state to apply the death penalty to an individual I believe was because of the following. The individual or agent did something to hurt the receiver, such as killing him. Then the spectator who could be the state has the right to share distaste for the agent’s action. However that state shouldn’t have the right to take another person’s life because then the state’s action would be seen by the spectator (citizens) as monstrous. This is what my Moral Theory states. The agent’s actions however atrocious they might be, nobody should inflict on him the same actions because we would be the same. That’s why the agent should have a natural death, a proper funeral and a farewell. I wish no one should witness what I once witness. Women and children crying, men having convulsions; there was tremendous grief, astonishment and indignation within the society. In the world we will be known for the actions that we have made the goodness of a virtuous person or the badness of a vicious person. So I restate that I don’t believe that the state should have the power to kill a person, however it only has the choice as an spectator to share and agree with the feelings of the receiver.
